Hoe vaak worden films niet gepromoot onder het mom van gebaseerd op waargebeurde gebeurtenissen, maar dan nog zijn we te lui om de feiten hier achter te checken. Dat heeft de website Topless Robot nu wel voor ons gedaan en het resultaat is deze lijst en daar staan een aantal van mijn favoriete films op. Waaronder The Entity uit 1982 (en niet 82 zoals het artikel vermeld) die zelfs vandaag de dag nog scary as shit is.

10) The Story of Doris Bither = The Entity

The 1983 film The Entity stars Barbara Hershey as a single mother who is sexually assaulted by a supernatural force. The film was based on the story of Doris Bither, a woman from Culver City, CA, who claimed she and her children were tormented by malevolent spirits for months. The Bither case is still one of the better-known hauntings in paranormal investigative circles today, though largely forgotten by the general public.
