Maar dat is niet een kant die hij nu heeft laten zien, want hij is zonder aankondiging naar de bioscoop gegaan waar James Holmes vorige weer dood en verderf aanrichtte onder het publiek dat daar voor de film The Dark Knight Rises was. Nadat Bale met zijn vrouw de ramp plek hadden bezocht is hij nog naar het ziekenhuis gegaan om daar te praten en op de foto te gaan met de slachtoffers. Christian Bale, star of the Batman films, is in town visiting victims of the Aurora movie theater shooting, Warner Brothers officials confirmed.

"Mr. Bale is there as himself, not representing Warner Brothers," said an assistant for Susan Fleishman, executive vice president for Warner Brothers corporate communications.
Bale previously released the following statement about the tragedy:

"Words cannot express the horror that I feel. I cannot begin to truly understand the pain and grief of the victims and their loved ones, but my heart goes out to them."
