A 21-year-old man was taken into custody Saturday after police say he stabbed his uncle in the back with a hunting knife.

At 8:50 p.m. Hanford police officers were called to a home in the 600 block of Lassen Drive for a report of a fight.

When officers arrived at the home, police found 36-year-old Bryan Harris lying in a pool of blood with a stab wound to his back.

Upon investigating, police learned that Harris and his nephew, Jordan Sawyer, had been arguing over video games.

"They were disputing over [Nintendo] Wii games," Lt. George Hernandez said. "Six games came up missing and Harris confronted Sawyer about it, which led to a physical altercation."

A police statement said both Harris and Sawyer pulled out hunting knives and engaged in a knife fight outside of their residence.

"Someone tried to break it up and Harris walked away," Hernandez said. "That's when he was stabbed in the back by Sawyer."

Harris was airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno for treatment to his 5-inch deep stab wound. He is currently reported to be in stable condition.

Sawyer was treated for minor cuts at Adventist Medical Center then released into police custody.

Sawyer was booked into the Kings County Jail on suspicion of attempted homicide. He is being held without bail.
