A 20-year-old Hanover Township man hit his girlfriend in the face with a PlayStation 2 after she slapped and scratched him, police said.

Jacob M. Alfonso, of Hanover Township, was charged with simple assault and harassment for allegedly striking his girlfriend Kimberly Kelly with the game console at a Woodbury Street residence around 8 a.m. Sunday, according to Hanover Township police.

When police arrived at the residence, they said Kelly had a bloody, swollen nose and a swollen right eye. Kelly told police her boyfriend hit her in the face with the game console. Alfonso told police Kelly slapped and scratched him and wouldn't let him leave the house. Police said he had marks on his face and neck.

Alfonso remains free on $7,500 unsecured bail set by Magisterial District Paul Roberts. Charges of simple assault and harassment are pending against Kelly.
