On Monday, members of a Valley family became the victims of this not-so-funny prank. The Yacoub family says their house was swarmed with Surprise police and guns were being pointed right at them.

"I was in my bedroom. I came out and, guns all over," said Sameer Yacoub. "My mom - she's 78 years old - she was in the bedroom sleeping. They went in there and basically just swatted the house."

"Scared the hell out of me because I don't want them to come in and start shooting," he said.

Yacoub's wife and 3-year-old daughter were in the backyard playing when his wife saw a man with a gun over the fence.

"She thought that some guy was trying to shoot birds or something," he said.

The family says it all started with some 'smack talking' from Yacoub's 14-year-old son in a chat room on his gaming system. Yacoub's son says that he got a message saying "swatted" with a smiley face, and just figured that the other person was kidding.

That's when police got a call saying there was a person with a gun at his address and there might have been a murder.

Former police officer Paul Penzone says police have to go in preparing for the worst. And this is exactly what they did.

"The community should be outraged when they see this occurring, because it hurts their services that they get from law enforcement and for law enforcement, it's just bad all the way around," said Penzone.

Yacoub has since taken the Xbox from his son. His son says he's done with it anyway, especially after this.
