Super Retro Trio is de zoveelste alles in één console voor de retro gamer, want de RetroN 5 mag dan wel de ongekroonde koning zijn als het op dit soort consoles komt, maar de R5 is nogal hard verkrijgbaar op dit ogenblik. Maar de Super Retro Trio is net even iets anders, want deze games spelen rechtstreeks vanaf de hardware en worden niet eerst omgezet tot ROM zoals met de RetroN 5 het geval is. It ships with two controllers for classic family action in front of the telly.

And you can even leave three cartidges plugged in at the same time, one for each format.

Andy Pearson, manager of funstock, added: "I own a NES, SNES and Mega Drive and the biggest convenience for me is not having to switch between cables and inputs on my TV - everything goes through one input.

"I also love that you can leave in one of your favourite cartridges for each format and switch between them using the console switch.

"You also get two great controllers but I like to switch between using those and the original controllers sometimes.

"It also plays pretty much everything I've thrown at it, PAL/NTSC, Jap, USA. UK etc.

"It's also worth mentioning that the pin connectors are a lot more reliable than my old consoles, a lot less blowing into the cartridges involved - although some of the carts do still need it."
