Dankzij een wet waarbij geen reclame voor Energy Drinks gemaakt mag worden, zullen gamers in Denemarken niet MMA kunnen spelen. Want Electronic Arts wil een authentieke ervaring bieden en hun game niet aanpassen, sterker ze verschepen heel de game niet naar het Scandinavische land.

Scandinavian law prohibits the advertisement of energy drinks in the region, and Since EA Sports MMA features in-game advertising on kit and arenas, the game would violate this law.

EA has said it is dedicated to providing an authentic MMA experience, as a result of this they are outright canceling the release.

"We are adhering to laws in Denmark that restrict the use of energy drink product placement in-game, and therefore are not shipping EA SPORTS MMA in that region. Our game authentically recreates the sport of MMA in every facet, including energy drink in-game sponsorships on fighter shorts, gear, and in fight venues."
