In strijd tegen piraterij heeft Sony een tijdje geleden besloten om de hele other OS optie uit hun console te verwijderen, dit maakte een hoop liefhebbers van Linux behoorlijk pissed off. Maar voor de mensen die nu een PlayStation 3 met een Jailbreak hebben is er goed nieuws want Marcan42 is er ingeslaagd om Gentoo op een PS3 te booten, het hele gebeuren is nogal omslachtig voor de huis tuin en keuken gebruiker, maar als dit verder word uitgewerkt (wat zeker zal gebeuren) word de sky de limit.

Revealed:
AsbestOS is currently about 40kb.
AsbestOS must currently be combined with a current payload.
AsbestOS will almost certainly require a 64kb development device.
AsbestOS will load from an external storage device for devices that have limited memory (coming soon).
AsbestOS works or will work with the TI-84+ and other devices such as ipods.
The AsbestOS stages will replace GameOS and remove it from memory (not permanent).
The Seventh SPE is enabled.
Full RSX access is available with 3D support.
Gentoo is used in the video.
