Dankzij The Walking Dead TV serie die dit weekeinde op TV komt, kunnen meer mensen bewust worden van de op hand zijnde Zombie Apocalypse. Maar er zijn nog een zeven zombiefilm projecten in aankomst, en niet alleen wij van Eigenwereld.nl willen deze graag zien. Want de website Fearnet.com ook, en daarom is er de deze lijst gemaakt. 2. World War Z

What: An adaptation of Max Brooks' highly praised 2006 novel, a collection of first person narratives detailing characters experiences in the post-apocalyptic world.

Who: Brad Pitt is producing and may star. Marc Forster (Quantum of Solace) is attached to direct. J. Michael Straczynski (Babylon 5) penned the original script, which is currently being reworked by Matthew Michael Carnahan (State of Play).

Why is it different? Often compared to War of the Worlds, Z presents an entire landscape within the post-apocalypse rife with possibilities. This is the "smart" zombie movie, a tale that could legitimize the undead as more than mere genre fodder and even award season consideration.

Odds We'll See it Before the Actual Zombie Apocalypse: Earlier this year FEARnet caught up with Brooks, who said, "Paramount just renewed the option for World War Z, for half the time and twice the money, so that might signal interest." Considering the list of players tied to this one and Paramount's willingness to front the cash, this should receive the green light very soon.
