Two teenagers out playing Pokemon Go early Saturday morning were shot at by a man who apparently thought the teens posed a threat, said the Flagler County Sheriff's Office.

The shooting at a Palm Coast home on Primrose Lane happened around 1:30 a.m. when a 19-year-old man and his 16-year-old friend stopped in a car in front of the home to supposedly catch some Pokemon. Deputies said the homeowner was awakened by a loud noise coming from outside his home, and when he looked out his window and saw a small, white car stopped in front of his home with the brake lights on, he grabbed his handgun and went out to investigate.

Authorities said the man heard someone say something like, "did you get anything?" in the car. The man said he then stepped in front of the vehicle and told them not to move, but the vehicle accelerated toward him so he ran from the road and shot at the car several times. He then called police.

The young men were not hit, but at 10:30 a.m., deputies were contacted by the 19-year-old's mother who said her son told her what happened. She said she found bullet holes in the car and a flat tire later in the morning.

No names were released Saturday night, and Sheriff's Office spokesman Jim Troiano said the investigation is continuing and additional details will be provided.
