James Wan is één van de meest getalenteerde regisseurs en schrijvers die er op dit moment in Hollywood rond loopt en met The Conjuring zelfs het horror genre een nieuwe impuls gaf. James zijn agenda is behoorlijk vol en zijn naam al sinds jaar en dag verbonden aan een Mortal Kombat reboot project. Nu willen een hoop mensen dat deze film asap er aan komt, maar James neemt zijn tijd omdat hij zelf een grote gamer is en dit perfect wilt doen. Hoewel ik de eerste Mortal Kombat film uit 1995 aanbid omdat deze ongelofelijk fout is, zou ik graag een reboot van zijn hand willen zien omdat zijn huidige films spot on zijn.

It's still cooking away. With that particular project, that's a really cool property that I loved growing up as a kid. Besides the game, even the movies as well, I kind of enjoyed them for what they are...The key here is to try and do it right. I don't want to rush into it. So right now, we're just trying to take our time to make sure it's heading in the right direction. I think that's more important than trying to rush through it and pump up something that no one likes.
