Afgelopen nacht maakte TV zender Starz bekend dat ze niet meer verder gaan met de horror serie Ash vs Evil Dead die dus na drie seizoenen Game Over is. Veel fans van deze show die hier in Nederland op Netflix is te zien, zijn nu geschrokken en boos. Want de officiële reden zou zijn dat er te weinig kijkers zijn, wat vreemd is aangezien Netlfix wekelijks de nieuwste aflevering toont en dus een groter publiek bereikt dan Amerika. Eerder gaf Bruce Campbell die Ash Williams speelt, de schuld aan het illegaal downloaden. Maar goed, dit is een verdomd leuke serie voor ons nerds en geeks en zal gemist worden. Set in Sam Raimi's Evil Dead universe, the comedic horror series follows Ash Williams, the aging monster-hunting lothario who has spent the last 30 years avoiding responsibility and the terrors of the Evil Dead. When a Deadite plague threatens to destroy mankind, Ash is forced back into action to face his demons - both personal and literal.

Ash vs. Evil Dead was a decent performer for the cable network during the bulk of its time on the air, though a downturn in viewership in Season 3 was likely a key factor in today's decision.
