Robert Bowling van Infintity Ward heeft laten weten dat er nog één patch voor Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 zal verschijnen en dat dan de spreekwoordelijke koek op is. Dit is niet zo heel erg vreemd aangezien er over negen maanden weer een nieuwe Modern Warfare in de winkels ligt. Het is wel jammer dat er geen nieuwe map packs meer komen, en dat er verder nooit wat met de spec-ops mode is gedaan. Het begin van het einde??

The latest patch for Modern Warfare 2 has finished production and is now going through internal quality assurance. This new title update will address security issues that have affected online play. We plan to release this update for all platforms (Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and PC). No release date is set at this time. In addition to the security updates, this patch will also address a small geo exploit on the map Fuel, which players exploited in order to get inside a rock on the outskirts of the map.

Robert Bowling also revealed that "No, we have no additional DLC planned for #MW2."
