It looks like Comic Book Men has reached the end of the road. Star and producer Kevin Smtih confirmed the sad news on his Instagram story yesterday, with a graphic stating the show has been cancelled, and a note referring fans to his podcast network, SModcast, for more on the story.

The long-running series premiered in 2012 and became a late-night staple on the cable network during its seven-season run. The show's final episode aired on April 8 - it was its 96th overall episode, which leaves it just four short of reaching the 100-episode milestone.

Filmmaker, director, and actor Kevin Smith owns comic shop "Jay and Silent Bob's Secret Stash" in Red Bank, NJ, where the series is filmed. A comic book fanboy himself, Smith partakes in daily banter with the store's staff and its customers as they discuss all aspects of pop culture artifacts and iconic celebrities from the fanboy world. Memorabilia is bought and sold, and adventures are had away from the store, all of which is shared by the men of The Stash with Kevin via their podcast, which is woven throughout the show's episodes.
