Als je The Orville nog niet kijkt, dan mis je iets prachtigs. Want deze show is eigenlijk oldskool Star Trek maar dan met dick jokes en soms donkere en serieuze onderwerpen. Want ondanks dat het bedacht is door Seth MacFarlane is het veel beter dan je zou verwachten. Het tweede seizoen zit er al weer een tijdje op en kwam vandaag naar buiten dat het derde seizoen bevestigd is en dat is heel erg goed nieuws.

Fox announced today that The Orville has been picked up for a third season. Created by Family Guy's Seth MacFarlane, the hour-long space dramedy continued to have a solid presence during its sophomore run, both creatively and ratings-wise. Known for its mix of thought-provoking sci-fi story lines and witty humour, the series is amassing quite the loyal fanbase.

Taking inspiration from Star Trek, The Orville takes place 400 years in the future, when Earth is just a small part of an advanced and mostly-peaceful Planetary Union. The U.S.S. Orville is a mid-level exploratory vessel with a human and alien crew led by rookie officer Ed Mercer, who is played by MacFarlane. Determined to prove his worth despite his First Officer being his ex-wife, Ed leads his crew as they face the wonders and dangers of outer space, while also dealing with the familiar workplace problems.
