Silicon Valley is een echte Eigenwereld serie, want dit is hardcore nerd territorium met grappen die normale mortals niet zullen begrijpen. De show is zeer geliefd en zal nu helaas eindigen met het zesde seizoen die overigens veel korter is dan de vorige. Hoe dan ook het is en blijft een 1337 show.

HBO announced today that Silicon Valley will be ending after its upcoming sixth season. The news arrives over a year after the veteran comedy was picked up for Season 6, though it does not come as a complete surprise. Creator Mike Judge has in the past referred to a potential six-season run.

The half-hour series has had a solid run for the cable network since its 2014 premiere. It has garnered critical acclaim year in and year out, picking up numerous awards along the way. Its audience numbers have taken a noticeable hit in recent seasons, though, which likely factored into the decision to end it this year.

Partially inspired by Judge's experiences as a Silicon Valley engineer in the late '80s, the comedy follows the lives of a group of high tech workers in the Palo Alto area of California. While this group of social outcasts may be the most qualified to succeed in this modern environment, they are not necessarily capable of handling the success.

Seven episodes have been ordered for the final season of Silicon Valley, which will be its shortest season to-date. Look for a premiere later this year.
