Het is makkelijk om te bitchen op Transformers: Age of Extinction en de meeste recensie zijn ook niet goed over Michael Bay's nieuwste CGI achtbaan. Maar de bioscoop gangers zal dit aan hun reet roesten, want in drie dage tijd heeft deze film maar liefst $80 miljoen dollar opgehaald in de landen waar deze al te zien is. Dus dat er een vervolg gaat komen is onvermijdelijk.

"Age of Extinction" grossed $52 million internationally in 36 markets on Friday, bringing its international total to $80 million after three days. China brought in a record-breaking $30 million in a single day in its regular and IMAX theaters, the latter 148 screens making up 24% of the total IMAX screens globally.

This is the biggest opening day for any movie this year, giving it the best chance at being the first movie of the year to gross over $100 million its opening weekend, although there are other factors to consider before jumping to that conclusion.
