Het het eerste seizoen van de Snowpiercer TV serie die hier in Nederland op Netflix is te vinden, was verrassend te noemen. Het is niet zo sterk als de film (of comic) waar het op gebaseerd is, maar het kijkt lekker weg en heeft een paar hele goede plot twists. Met het tweede seizoen gingen alle remmen los en wist zelfs verfrissend te blijven, en Sean Bean was goed op dreef als Mr.Wilson de nieuwe villain van het verhaal. Het derde seizoen zal volgend jaar verschijnen en daar van zijn de opnames net achter de rug. Maar er is goed nieuws, TNT heeft al een vierde seizoen besteld, dus de trein blijft nog even door rijden.

TNT announced today that Snowpiercer has been picked up for a fourth season. The good news comes early, as the dystopian drama just wrapped its sophomore run four months ago. Season 3 has yet to set a premiere date, but just recently finished shooting and is targeting a return in early 2022.

Season 1 of the series debuted in May 2020 and became the most-watched cable program of that month, making it TNT's best premiere in nearly two years. A solid freshman run was followed up with more success in Season 2, where it ranked as a Top 5 drama on cable TV with 21 million viewers across linear and digital platforms.

Adapted from the film and graphic novel series of the same name, Snowpiercer takes place seven years after the world became a frozen wasteland. Now the only surviving remnants of humanity inhabit a perpetually-moving train of 1001 cars that circles the earth. Within this new society, class warfare, social injustice, and the politics of survival are all in play.
