De Oscars van 2023 zijn weer voorbij en was de uitslag erg voorspelbaar, want de woke wind waaide weer als vanouds door de zaal heen. Want zo won Everything Everywhere At Once zeven Oscars waarbij ik voor de Best Supporting Actress totaal niet terecht vond. Dat deze film zou winnen stond al vast want Aziatische acteurs moesten ook eens in de spotlight gezet worden, en ook was het op voorhand al bekend dat Black Panther: Wakanda Forever zou winnen, dan was er de anti Rusland speech en alles politiek correct was weer heel trots op zichzelf.

Nu zie ik je denken wat een rechtse haat kraam je uit, maar de Oscars doen dit al jaren. Zo was er ophef over te weinig donkere acteurs die wonnen en dat jaar regende het (zelfs onterecht) beeldjes richting deze groep. Waar het voor mij met de Oscars omdraait is dat dit de beloning is voor acteurs,actrices en film makers die hun WERK zo goed hebben gedaan dat ze hier een prijs voor verdienen en niet voor kleur, geloof, afkomst of seksuele voorkeur. Dan wil ik het niet eens hebben over de Oscar Bait films waar ik echt een tyfus schijt hekel aan hebt.
