On the sixth anniversary of the release of Little Nightmares, Bandai Namco announced that the homegrown franchise has reached over 12 million copies sold.

The franchise has released several games, starting with Little Nightmares in 2017, produced by Bandai Namco Europe and developed by Tarsier Studios. The game puts the players as Six as they try to escape the Maw, an underwater ship filled with grotesque inhabitants. The sequel, Little Nightmares II , released in 2021, tells the story of Mono, a boy with a paper bag on his head, who meets the girl in the yellow raincoat. This encounter leads them to explore various locations in Pale City, a place disturbed by the signal tower's buzzing transmission.

In addition, 2019 saw the release of Very Little Nightmares , a mobile game developed by Alike Studio in which players must escape from The Nest and discover more about Six's backstory.

“The Little Nightmares franchise has seen great growth and success since the first installment, released six years ago today,” said Arnaud Muller, CEO of Bandai Namco Europe. "We are proud of the work the teams at Bandai Namco Europe have done together with Tarsier Studios, Engine Software and Supermassive Games to create great games while expanding the franchise to more media."

“Watching the community grow over the years has been a blessing,” adds Lucas Roussel, Publishing Director and Little Nightmares Executive Producer at Bandai Namco Europe. "When we started Little Nightmares we thought we had something really special, but we are still amazed every day by the involvement of our fans with the franchise. We can't thank them enough for their dedication and we continue to work on the next step for the franchise."
